This past week was full of tears of joy and proud families as they watched their children graduate from Rancho Buena Vista High School. I was excited to be a part of such an important day in their lives. I was there as a photographer, on behalf of Palomar College and their GEAR UP program. Its a program designed to create a pre-college culture in middle schools, while continuing to serve the students as they proceed through high school graduation. GEAR UP moves with the students from their middle school years to high school graduation in 2011 and 2012. It works to ensure that more students are prepared for and enroll in the college of their choice or are ready for any post-secondary education or a career. I had so much fun getting to talk to the students enrolled in the program as well as their instructors. The following are some pictures of these students before and after their graduation.
